Who is making the headlines today?  Find out by meeting characters from this morning’s news in unique one-on-one performances.  Four to choose from, four tents, four minutes each.  How will the news affect you?

Ampersand Media presents Headlines, a performance piece that takes place inside four separate tents specially constructed in the gardens of The Albany in Deptford, Downham Health & Leisure Centre, and The Dolphin Public House in Sydenham. Each tent holds one actor and can admit one audience member (two at a squeeze). Audiences are encouraged to visit each tent in turn, getting each character's different personal take on the same news story. The tents will be ‘open’ from 2-4 and 5-7 on the performance days.

The characters will be freshly drawn every day from one of the headlines in that morning’s newspapers. It could be from a broadsheet, a tabloid - nothing is decided until 9 o’clock that very morning. Then Ampersand’s director and professional actors have just 4 hours to create the characters behind the story and give them a live monologue. As the audiences meet these characters, they’ll have the opportunity to explore and consider the news that affects them from very different angles.

Headlines is FREE to attend. There is no need to book, you can just turn up.

The Headlines Tents are specially commissioned from exciting local textile artist and Goldsmiths Graduate Catherine Shinerock.
